Verge Wine Cellars

18 July 2008 5 Comments

Alex heads up to the top of Bradford Mountain in the Dry Creek Valley to talk to Mike Brunson and Jay Kell about their new project Verge Wine Cellars.  Verge makes Syrahs on the fringe.  By working with the natural world they are creating fine wines with an awesome story behind them.  Check out the video and make sure you leave a comment and also go check out their website.

About Alex:
Having grown up in the wine industry, worked harvests here and abroad, and studied wine intently, my interest lies behind the scenes, in the vineyards and cellars of wine country. The personalities, passions, and practices of the people behind the wine are often as interesting as the wine itself. It gives us a valuable perspective from which to approach the wine. I hope you enjoy the profiles.

Thanks for sharing the great profile on Mike Brunson and Jay Kell, the makers of “Verge” wine. Your video successfully captured the essence of what these guys are passionate about. While the interview was refreshingly laid back in nature, it is apparent that these guys really know what they are talking about and are definitely “in touch” with the grapes! I also loved the added benefit of the guys jammin in the garage, the pig, and the old jeep in the background - great video!

Sensational! Nothing says ‘fringe’ more than Bradford Mountain, Mike and Jay’s garage jammin’, and Verge Wine Cellars. Keep it up!
