Nicely done. Three Cab’s from the barrel sounds interesting. I wonder though, the website states that this guy Herman Froeb is the winemaker, not Jake? Site doesn’t even mention him? I’ll have to check them out!
Thanks for commenting! And yes, Herman is the Winemaker (Just a little typo on our end). Jake is actually the owner and a very cool guy. I would highly recommend checking out Hawkes wine!
Bill, et al. Allow me to explain. In ‘02, when we made our first vi ntages of wine, Herman Froeb, the cellar master at Burgess Cellars and a longtime friend of the family, was hired as the consultant winemaker. Herman still serves in that capacity and offers a lifetime of experience in production of some super wines. Stephen and Jake Hawkes have since assumed winemaking responsibilties. Incidentally, the “people” section of the Hawkes website hasn’t been updated since 2002.
The “Third barrel was great”! I loved the teapot collection. Once again Emily you have done a wonderful job. Great coverage John.
That looked like fun.. Great visual/verbal review from all - thank you for making this video of Hawkes winery and allowing others to get introduced to the ” New kid on the block “. I hope they do well.
Wish we could have been there…looks like you had a great crowd. The video is great. Can’t wait to be there next week!
