Why Not Go On a Picnic?
The weather is beautiful, the leaves are changing, winter is approaching and you want to escape your routine for a bit (even if it’s only an afternoon.) What can you do? Go on a picnic!
Going on a picnic to a local park for an afternoon is the perfect way to escape the stressors of the office. Bring a friend or loved one, and make it an afternoon of surprises.
Have your friend bring a dish or two, and you do the same. Coordinate as far as the type of dish (main course, side dish, dessert) but leave the other details blank and be surprised when you show up! Try out a recipe you’ve always wanted to try, or one that doesn’t exactly meet the requirements of your rigorous diet and indulge for the afternoon.
Another amazing compliment to your afternoon picnic? This is a no-brainer, I know, but bring a bottle of wine! Your favorite bottle of white wine is the perfect complement to a relaxing and fun afternoon. If you bring your significant other, rather than a friend, candles and a bottle of wine make your relaxing picnic a fun date. Pair your wine and food for optimum enjoyment!
So, after you eat, what do you do? Bring your favorite book, card game, or take a nap if you really want to unwind. Otherwise, just spend some time talking with your friends and loved ones. Sometimes, a much-needed therapy (or just venting) session can relax you more than any bottle of wine can.
When you’re putting time into yourself and your free time, all the other stressors in your life seem to be less significant, and finding the patience to deal with less-than-desirable situations gets easier. Taking a little time for yourself is a must when you’re juggling a busy schedule and trying to stay afloat!
Love, Romance, & Superb Wine
Did anyone catch last night’s episode of the Bachelorette on ABC? Ashley, the bachelorette, went on a one-on-one date with Ben Flajnik during their tour of Thailand. They spent the day visiting the market, tasting the local cuisine, painting traditional miniature umbrellas, and visiting a sacred temple.
Ben is from Sonoma, California and owns and runs Evolve Winery with his best friend, Mike Benziger. Evolve’s philosophy is to: “enjoy life with great food, friends and of course, wine.” It’s safe to say that Ben is living out his philosophy with style.
Ben Flajnik
This hopeless romantic swept Ashley off her feet last night when they completed their date by having dinner by candlelight in a beautiful garden. During the dinner, Ashley asked Ben what it’s like to run a winery. Ben painted a romantic picture of harvesting and making wine, explaining that he had the best profession in the world. Ashley gave Ben a rose at the end of the date, making Ben a leading contender on the show.
Ashley and Ben’s Candlelight Dinner
On the very first night they met, Ben presented Ashley with a glass of his very own wine – Sauvignon Blanc Sonoma Valley. Ashley repeatedly told him that she loved his wine, making the two a perfect pair. Interested in trying Ben’s wine? You can have your very own Sauvignon Blanc for just $19.99 by visiting Evolve Winery’s website.
And don’t forget to watch the Bachelorette on Monday nights on ABC!
